Our Lenten theme this year will be examining Jesus “I AM” statements found in John. We’ll be gathering to reflect on these powerful images with our friends in Christ Lutheran Church in Stockton and hearing reflections by pastors and laity alike. We hope you can join us on Wednesday evenings during Lent for a potluck and worship. We’ll gather at 6:00pm for dinner and worship begins at 7:00pm. The liturgy will be Holden Evening Prayer.

It has become a very valuable service to our community. Our food supplier is River Bend Food Bank from Davenport, IA. We also receive donations of food and financial support from local businesses, individuals, from churches and many, many organizations. We receive grants from the Jo Daviess County Fair and FEMA. This was very helpful for us. We must re-apply every year for both of these grants.
We are located at 119 W. Main St. in Warren. The building is owned by Community Bank of Warren. They are giving us the use of the lower floor, rent and utility free. This space is very adequate. We are very grateful for the banks help.
NOTE: This building has been owned by the Community Bank for the past nine years and has to be sold by the Spring of 2016. We received a notice last Spring of this situation. This means that the Food Pantry will have to find a new home by that time. We are asking for the help of the general public to help us with our problem. If anyone has any suggestions, please get in contact with either Joyce Kent or Shirley Miller.
We wish to thank the congregation for their donations of food and other items placed in the tub under the coat rack in the narthex. Your support is very much needed and appreciated.
We have a very faithful group of volunteers who work on Saturday mornings. But, we can always use more help. We are open every Saturday and the hours are 9AM to 11AM. We also can use help on Monday morning to re-stock shelves. The food delivery truck comes in on the first Monday of every month and help is also needed at that time. If any of you could find time to help with any of these tasks, it would be greatly appreciated.
We THANK EVERYONE for your faithful support of this ministry so it can continue in the future.
